Council May Pick Names Out of Hat to Fill Seats

A vote or the simple practice of drawing names out of a hat will decide who will sit on Dryden Council until the October Municipal Election.
The City is looking at filling 2-vacant positions, previously held by Gwen Kurz and Dennis Wintle, who stepped aside earlier this year.
5-people, who held office of Mayor or Councilor at some point since 1998, have said they would let their name stand.
Brian Collins and Gary Case both stressed Monday night, that given the candidates experience, the easiest way to decide would be to pick names out of a hat.
Mayor Anne Krassilowsky has stated she would like to see a vote.
A decision on the selection process and who will fill the 2-seats will be made at next Monday’s Open Meeting.
Joe Delany, Sally Rowat, Velma Silver, Keith Sveinson and Sid Wintle have all advised staff that they will let their name stand.
