OPP Investigating Death of Deer Lake Man

Foul play is suspected in the death of a 27-year-old Deer Lake First Nation man.
Nishnawbe-Aski Police were called to the Deer Lake Nursing Station, north of Sioux Lookout Saturday night.
Officers were advised that Joey Crowe had died at the scene and a second man, 27-year-old Nielson Meekis, was flown to Thunder Bay Hospital with injuries.
OPP were called to investigate and have charged 26-year-old Jason Miller with attempted murder in relation to Meekis’ injuries.
The death is under investigation and results of a post-mortum have not been released.
