Dryden Council has recognized five members of the Police Service.
Ontario Medals for Police Bravery citations were awarded to Constables Jon Allen, Terry Menard and Denise Szachury Monday night.
Police Services Board Chair Peter Andrusco says the officers saved two people from drowning in the Wabigoon River last September.
The two people were intoxicated and put up a struggle.
One of them was also pregnant and the quick actions of officers helped save the life of the unborn baby.
Andrusco says their fellow officers would have done the same thing and it shows the kind of people they have in place at the Police Service.
He notes the community should be proud of the positive influence they have on our lives.
Sergeant Dale Engstrom was thanked for 25-years of service, while Sergeant Scott Silver was honoured for 20-years of work.
