Council Vote To Increase Taxi Rates Coming Up In Dryden

The cost to hail a cab in Dryden may soon be going up.

Council is expected to vote on a rate increase at its May 28th Council meeting.

The initial rate would be changed to 5-dollars and 25-cents from the current 4.60.

Incremental rates per kilometre would go up by three cents.

Staff say any approved rate hike could go into effect on June 15th but are recommending a phase-in period.

It’s due to increased insurance costs and rising gas prices.
