Dryden Police are warning residents that counterfeit money is making the rounds.
A local business called Police on Sunday morning that a fake $5 bill had been used in the store the previous day.
The bill had no silver stripe on the left side**.
Police say counterfeit 5’s and 10’s are in circulation.
** Please note that $5 bills issued before 2006 did NOT have the silver stripe. If there is no stripe on your 5, please check the date on the bill to make sure it isn’t just one of the older issues, before the addition security feature was added.
