The ideal location of the Centennial Mosaic has been an issue of debate for over a year now and Dryden Council is poised to finally put the issue to rest.
A vote is expected next week on putting the ‘Pieces of Dryden’ 3D sculpture at Johnston Park.
Some on Council believe that Cooper Park would be the ideal location, but Acting City Manager Linda McNaughton says they have run into space issues.
Councilor Brian Collins says the 8 Panel Mosaic was made for Dryden residents and stresses it should be placed in an area that’s frequented often.
He says local residents don’t generally go to Johnston Park.
Councilor Mel Fisher says the artists have notified Council that they prefer Johnston Park and believes the City should recognize their efforts.
Mosaic Site May Finally be Finalized
