COVID Outbreak At Fort Frances Hospital

A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared at LaVerendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.

This after a patient tested positive for the virus.

Riverside Health Care notes staff have been affected by the recent surge in cases affecting the area.

Officials says they are now taking additional precautions to measures already in place.

Testing of staff is already being done twice a week and now testing is being done on all inpatients.

Entry is also being restricted, with visits only permitted to patients in palliative care, obstetrics and pediatrics, as well as those critically ill, or the emergency room.
