Local residents are being warned of a phone scam that has resurfaced.
Someone claiming to be from Canada Revenue Agency is calling individuals claiming they have a balance owing and personal information is needed.
The organization has confirmed they aren’t making the calls.
The CRA is warning local residents to not give out personal information because it could result in identity and financial theft.
If you receive a call similar to this, you’re advised to hang up and report the call to the Canadian Anti Fraud Centre.
