The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry continues to enforce fishing rules across northwestern Ontario.
A total of 106 resident and non-resident anglers were stopped during a recent three-day enforcement blitz on Lake Nipigon.
Conservation officers laid 14-charges and issued 8-warnings.
Violations included fishing without a licence, fishing with too many lines, having an over-limit of fish, not using a barbless hook, using a line with more than one barbless hook, packing fish so they couldn’t be identified and failing to produce a Crown land camping permit.
Conservation officers also laid charges and warnings for insufficient life jackets onboard a boat and operating a vessel without prescribed safety gear.
