Crimestoppers in Northwestern Ontario and Northern Minnesota has a new tool in its arsenal to fight crime.
Crimestoppers is now accepting tips that are texted to its
hotline.
Garry Potter is the regional co-ordinator of the program and says its a good way for people to provide a tip, if a voice call isn’t safe.

Tips can be texted to Tip262. Once the tip is entered, it can then be sent to 2-7-4-6-3-7 or CRIMES.
Potter says texted tips will treated as any other tip and will be completely anonymous.
