Accident Closes Highway for 13 Hours

Winter storm deals tragic results. In the early morning hours of April 26th Dryden OPP were called to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 near the junction of Highway 72.
A young female was struck by a west bound transport on the highway. The female was transported to the Dryden Regional Health Center by ambulance, and then later flown to Thunder Bay by air ambulance. The extent of her injuries are unknown and the OPP continue the investigation.
Highway 17 eastbound was closed for approximately 13 as a combined result of the accident and poor weather conditions.
