You are going to have to shell out a little more money if you require a criminal reference check in Dryden.
The Police Services Board has voted to raise fees.
All-purpose checks will go up $10 to $35.
In comparison, the Provincial Police rate is $25 and the fee is $55 in Thunder Bay.
Board Chair Judy Green says City Police act on individual checks in a quick and timely fashion and notes the move will help generate some badly needed revenue for the City.
If you need a check to become a Volunteer, the service remains free.
The Board wrestled with the idea of implementing a small fee.
However, they concluded that requiring individuals to pay might deter them from volunteering.
