Crusade on School Name Change Continues

A former Riverview School student is demanding an emergency School Board meeting to discuss the name of Dryden’s new Elementary School.
Jeff Cole says he has collected more than 1,000 signatures on a petition calling on the Board to scrap the name ‘Open Roads’ School.
Cole says he has breached the idea with School Board Chair Dave Penney.
Cole says he’s been told that there won’t be a meeting until the regularly scheduled one on September 13th.
He says the vast majority of citizens find the name dreadful.
The School Board has always maintained that they support the naming Committee’s choice and find that the name is a suitable one.
