Housing Projects Moving Forward

Dryden, Sioux Lookout and Kenora should have should have new non-profit housing units up and running in the next 6 months or so.
Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services has funded projects in each of those communities.
Executive Director Don McBain says the projects are really a bonus for the non-profit housing agencies in these communities.
The Kenora District Services Board has agreed to provide rent subsidies for the Kenora housing unit, once its ready for occupancy.
It’s estimated that there is currently a 4 to 5- year waiting list for subsidized housing in the Kenora District.
