The Kenora District is aiming for a place on the world stage as a cultural and premier tourism destination.
The Dryden Development Corporation is working with Red Lake, Ear Falls, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Machin and Kenora to create an interactive web portal.
The project will establish a database of all regional cultural tourism resources using GIS.
Dryden Economic Development Manager Vicki Kurz says they are building the infrastructure that is necessary for this region to continue to attract and retain tourism investment and visitors.
Kurz says the infrastructure will include a mobile application so that people can plan an activity when traveling through the District.
The Government of Ontario has recognized the project with over $96,000 in funding.
