CUPE Plans Walkout

Up to 100,000 CUPE members are planning a Province-wide
strike for Thursday.
Local maintenance and custodial staff with the Public School Board,
educational assistants with the Catholic Board and some City Telephone
employees may be effected.
The CUPE Ontario workers are unhappy with changes to their pension
plan.
Union president Sid Ryan says the Government’s decision to call
the pension bill for final reading will cause the union to start its
wildcat walkout.
