Curtain Opens On New SIJHL Season Tonight

The wait is over and a new SIJHL season begins Friday night.

The Dryden GM Ice Dogs are in Cochenour for a championship rematch with the English River Miners.

Last years Rookie of the Year Eric Stout says his team is ready to go.

Stout says they want to get the season going, noting the ultimate goal is getting another ring.

Stout won’t be in the line-up today due to a family matter.

Defenceman Tristan Knott says everyone is pumped and anxious to start, noting there is no better way to start a season against their rivals.

Game time is 7:30.

The two teams are back in action Sunday afternoon in Dryden starting at 3:30.

In other action, the Fort Frances Lakers entertain the Thief River Falls Norskies.
