In Loving Memory of Daniel Walter Smith
May 1, 1983 – August 26, 2017
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin Daniel Smith on August 26, 2017 in Victoria B.C. who went to be with His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Daniel was born in Dryden. No one loved family more than him. His happy place was home. He was adored by his nieces and nephew. Where ever Daniel was, there were the kids. Whether it be swimming, floating on logs, water fights or playing dolls. Daniel loves the outdoors, especially camping. Loved sitting by the fire at night and gazing at the stars – contemplating life. It grounded him and brought him a measure of peace.
Daniel was a good guy. Someone who would carry groceries for the elderly people at the grocery store, who was the first to help a buddy move or shovel a neighbours driveway. He truly liked people.
Daniel was a genuine and compassionate light, and the word is dimmer with him not in it.
Daniel is survived by his parents Bob and Helen Smith of Dryden, brother Michael of Dryden, sister Michelle Jones of Terrace, B.C., two nieces Ashlynn Jones of Terrace, B.C., Naomi Smith of Dryden and our nephew Connor Jones of Terrace B.C., numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
