The Chair of the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says he’s pleased with the recent success of students at both the elementary and secondary level.
Dave Penny has been acclaimed as Chair for the sixth straight year.
Penny says they have been tracking student success very closely.
He notes he’s also pleased to see that graduation rates are starting to reach the 85-percent mark, which is the benchmark set by the Ministry of Education.
Penny says one of the big issues facing the Board this year is the settlement of union contracts.
The Board still needs to ratify deals with its High School and Elementary Teachers.
