DDC Busy On A Number Of Fronts

Dryden Council says it’s pleased with the progress shown by the Dryden Development Corporation.
Economic Development Manager James Harvey provided an update on current inititatives at last night’s Council meeting.
Harvey says one project close to fruition is the launch of an on-line mapping project.
Tourists will be able to look up certain events, restaurants, cultural activities and hotels by checking their mobile phone or I-Pad.
They will also be able to book their vacation around certain events and contact the organizers of each events.
The service should be on-line in September.
The DDC has also announced that information contained on all City websites will be molded into one at dryden.ca.
The Corporation has also been given rights to the signage within the City and will be looking at forming partnerships to bring the entrance signs back to life.
Sports tourism is another priority area with the recent hiring of Andi Kidd to the portfolio.
Harvey says one focus is looking at utilizing the ice at the arena during the summer months.
