Major Sporting Event Awarded To Dryden

Dryden has landed a major event.
More than sixty of the top snipers in International shooting will converge on Dryden next month.
The local Police Pistol Combat Association has been selected to host the Canadian National Police Pistol Combat Championship.
President Dan Landrie says competitors from Canada, the United States, Sweden and Germany will be taking part.
The event is August 2nd to 4th at the Barclay Hall Range.
Landrie says this is a feather in the cap of the Association and notes they are proud to be selected.
However, he stresses this is all about the community and notes it will provide a huge economic boost.
He notes the competitors and their families will likely be coming to Dryden a week before the event to practice.
The Dryden Police and Dryden’s own Rollie Miles, one of the top shooters in the world, are scheduled to compete.
This is also seen as an advancement in developing sports tourism in Dryden.
The City made a splash in 2010 when volunteers secured the National Windsurfing Championship.
