The Dryden Development Corporation continues work on luring more businesses to the community.
Chair Ernie Remillard says in order for that to happen, Council must complete the Norwill Industrial Park within the next 10-months.
Remillard says a potential investor has expressed an interest in developing property in the park starting this Fall.
Remillard adds they have had four inquiries to set-up shop and two are in the process of land sale negotiation with the City Clerk’s office.
He notes the DDC has also been working with 3-entrepreneurs who are interested in starting up a business.
Remillard addressed Council last night stating certain incentives would be beneficial for potential investors.
He’s calling for the creation of a community improvement plan.
Remillard also stated that the DDC has been in talks with Alex Wilson Coldstream to revamp the two large yellow information signs at the east and west entries.
He says there’s a chance for a strong partnership between the City and private sector.
Remillard notes they are still awaiting a written proposal.
