The Ministry of Natural Resources is keeping a close eye on mother nature.
The MNR says the wet weather has reduced the fire hazard in the southern portion of the region, but lightning strikes are posing problems.
There are 24-active forest fires in the district.
The Northwest region has been charred by 139 forest fires so far this season.
To date over 3,800 hectares of forest has burned.
