You still have some time to take part in The Northwestern Ontario Writer’s Workshop annual competition.
The deadline to enter the contest is March 31st.
This is the 20th year they are hosting their writing contest.
Coordinator Jodene Wyllie says they get entries from all over.
“We receive entries from all over the world but primarily from around our region like Dryden, Kenora, Fort Frances, Thunder Bay and Wawa even. Sometimes we even receive entries from southern Ontario.”
The five categories you can enter include poetry, short fiction, historical fiction, creative non-fiction, and the Bill MacDonald Prize for Prose.
The contest also has an impressive panel of judges this year.
George Elliott Clarke, Ross King, Heather O’Neill, Helen Humphrey, and Michael Christie are the five judges.
Last year over 160 writers participated.
