Don’t look for the City of Dryden to extend the boundary for bow hunting anytime soon.
Police Inspector Kevin Glenister outlined the current rules at a public meeting on the nuisance deer problem Wednesday night.
Glenister says hunting is allowed in Zone #2 or the former Barclay Township.
He says if you own 1-acre or more you can use an air rifle or bow to shoot a deer..
30-acres or larger allows you to use a rim-fire rifle or shotgun.
60-acres or larger allows you to hunt with a high powered rifle.
Glenister suggested during the meeting that extending the boundary would become a safety issue.
Glenister says Dryden is ahead of Kenora and Thunder Bay, who both took action over the summer to address the issue.

Deer Hunting Rules Will Likely Remain in Place
