The Lawyer for Dryden-area residents Bruce and Donna Montague launched
a passionate defense in Kenora Court Monday.
Doug Christie presented his final arguments.
Christie described the Montague’s as law-abiding citizens who are
well-respected in the community.
He says it’s preposterous to suggest that the firearms that were legally
acquired by Montague were ever dangerously stored.
Christie says most firearms were kept in a locked secure storage room
and the house was always locked when they were not home.
He also described Canada’s firearms laws as so diabolical and
convoluted that ordinary citizens have trouble following them.
Crown Attorney Peter Keen will deliver his final arguments Tuesday.
