Delay in Construction for New Dryden School

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says construction of the new Elementary School in Dryden will now likely commence in the Spring of 2009.
That would mean an opening date of September 2010, instead of original projections of January 2010.
Superintendent of Business Dean Carrie says new opportunities presented by the Province prompted the move.
Carrie adds the Government has announced new capital funding for full day programming for 4 and 5 year-old’s, which will require a small redesign of the building.
He adds they still need to secure funding from the Province for construction and notes they also want to take advantage of new money made available for Green Technology.
