The Provincial Government has announced a conditional
wood supply for a new mill in Atikokan.
Mayor Dennis Brown says Superior Laminated Lumber will
be constructing a new value-added mill that utilizes white
birch.

Brown adds the company will be hiring up to 180
employees, as well as construct a bio-mass boiler that
will help out Atikokan’s existing mill.
The 70 million dollar mill will produce `long-beam
plywood’ for the housing industry.
