Mayor Dennis Leney is looking to continue to tackle the communities needs in Sioux Lookout.
Leney has filed his papers and is seeking re-election.
He says one of his top priorities if re-elected is getting funding for long-term care.
Since being elected mayor, Leney has accomplished getting a new welcome sign for the municipality, completed a sewer and water site as well as road projects and has officially opened the Centennial Centre and train station.
He also notes the Friendship Accord is working well, which started in 2012.
7 people are right now running for Councillor, with there only being 5 spots available.
Those who are seeking re-election as Councillors are John Bath, Steven Forbes, Cal Southall and Doug Squires.
Three new people who are looking to be elected as Councillors are Yolaine Kirlew, Sandra Quinn and Phyllis Wills.
