There’s a new face at the helm of the Dryden Police Service.
Derek West comes to the community and will serve as interim Police Chief.
West has been with the Thunder Bay Police Service for 21 years.
He says he has had various roles in policing and this is an opportunity to grow and gain more experience.
West says he will be encouraging officers to engage with community groups, youth groups and schools.
The Dryden Police Services Board has begun the search for a full-time replacement for Rob Davis.
Davis will be sworn January 5th as the new Chief of the Lethbridge Police Department in Alberta.
