Police Agency’s from across Northwestern Ontario will take the wraps off a major 6-month undercover investigation Friday morning. (10:00 CST)
A press conference is taking place at the Dryden Police Detachment and it involves City Police, OPP, Treaty 3 and the Anishinabek Police Service.
Police say the probe led to significant cash, drug and property seizures.
The announcement may coincide with a report obtained yesterday highlighting the escalated prescription drug problem in the community.
The study found that Dryden Pharmacies dispensed roughly 8,000 Oxycontin tablets in the month of August.
That’s more than the combined total of 18-pharmacies studied in communities the same size of Dryden.
