Detour In Place In Sioux Lookout Starting On June 5th

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is set to begin its Wellington Street North Corridor upgrade project.

Manager of Corporate Services Brian MacKinnon says traffic detours will be in place starting on Monday, June 5th.

The detour will be in place until the project is complete in late August or mid-September.

The Municipality is conducting major watermain, storm sewer, road, curb and bike lane upgrades.

Here is the information that you need to know:

Northbound traffic on Highway 72, with the intention of accessing downtown Sioux Lookout via Wellington Street, will be detoured at the Ed Ariano By-pass (Hwy 72) and directed to downtown Sioux Lookout via Alcona Drive and King Street.
Wellington Street will be closed to through traffic at Fifth Avenue and access beyond Fifth Avenue will be available only for emergency services, local residents and businesses within the construction zone.
Wellington Street will also be closed to through traffic at Front Street and access to Wellington Street south of Front Street will be available only for emergency services, local residents and businesses within the construction zone.
