Don’t expect a decision to be made on the future of Dryden High School anytime soon.
The Public School Board admits a date of September 2015 to implement the Grade 7 to 12 model at DHS is likely too ambitious.
Superintendent of Education Caryl Hron says too many questions remain unanswered.
“What we are hearing is that parents would like some more time to think about it and want some more information and I think the process will take a little longer. We need to make sure we give parents time to think about it, open it up and give more time to the survey and if we need to have more consultations I think we will do that.”
Hron says she wants to ensure they get everything right and have the best possible model in place.
“I want to hear the voice of everybody including students, staff and parents because it’s very important we welcome everyone’s voice,” she says.
Hron wants to make sure that when she gives the report back to the board that she has the information from everyone that will be impacted by the decision.
You can still provide feedback by going to the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board website and filling out the survey. (www.kpdsb.on.ca)
