It is with great sadness that the Hauta family announce the passing of Dianne Cecelia Hauta age 61 of Dryden, who passed away on January 9, 2003 at home. Dianne was born in Golden Bay, Manitoba on December 15, 1941 to Leo and Bertha Kreiger. In 1945 they moved to Dryden, and then to Minnitaki three years later. Her schooling was interrupted when she had to go to the Sanitarium in Thunder Bay, on two occasions, to be treated for tuberculosis. Dianne started work immediately after being cured and, during her lifetime, had been employed at numerous stores in the Dryden area. On December 12, 1958 she married Albert Hauta, the love of her life. They were blessed with three sons the youngest of whom predeceased them at the age of 19. During their long happy life together, they resided in Minnitaki, Dryden, and Wabigoon. Dianne loved fishing and the outdoors (she seemed to have the knack for always catching the biggest) and the families used to spend every weekend camping together in their earlier days. She was an avid gardener, and was proud of her flower gardens around her home and at St. John’s Anglican Church in Wabigoon. She also enjoyed tackling and mastering various crafts in her spare time – nothing was too difficult for her talents. She was also a member of both St. John’s ACW and Registry and was very active in the church. Dianne was predeceased by her mother and father, brother Alvin and her son, Douglas. Dianne Hauta is survived by her loving husband Albert, sons Brian (Carolyn) Hauta and Randy (Denise) Kreiger both of Dryden. Sisters Shirley(Wayne) Kasprick of Minnedosa, MB, Gwen Oldfield of Winnipeg and Holly (Don) Piper of Calgary; grandchildren Sarah & Andrea Kreiger, Tija Hauta and Cindy Fleet and great grand daughter Samantha Fleet. Visitation for the late Dianne Hauta will be held at Dryden Community Funeral Home on Sunday January 12, 2003 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Services for the late Dianne Hauta will be held on Monday January 13, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Luke’s Anglican Church with Rev. Jody Miles officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment of ashes at a later date. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Research or St. John’s Anglican Church, Wabigoon through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
