Failing to clean up a diesel gas spill on Highway 17 has cost a trucking company $10,000.
Kenora Court heard that back on April 1st, 2009, a tractor-trailer belonging to Day and Ross Incorporated left the Trans-Canada Highway about 65-kilometres west of Vermilion Bay.
The fuel tanks ruptured and about 170-liters of diesel spilled into the ditch.
The Ministry of Environment ordered the spill to be cleaned up within 20-days, but the actual work wasn’t carried out until 60-days later.
