Plenty of debate over street names during Monday’s Dryden Council Meeting.
The street garnering all of the attention is the newly created one in the Centennial Business Park.
Staff had recommended that the street be named ‘Centennial Drive’, however the motion was defeated by Council.
Council believed that the name would cause some confusion and lead to problems with emergency dispatch service.
They elected to name it ‘Pioneer Street’, as its an extension of the existing Pioneer street.
The extension of the new road in the Norwill Subdivision will be named ‘Heather Drive’ and the section of Wice Road east of Colonization running between the fairgrounds and the Petro Pass will be renamed ‘Scott Street’.
