A powerplay goal from Ben McClellan was the difference as the Dryden Ice Dogs skated away with a 4-2 win over the Lakers in SIJHL play Tuesday night in Fort Frances.
Alex Galbraith and Tom Kuhn also found the back of the net, while Len Pelletier iced the contest with a late goal.
Ian Perrier made 29-saves for the victory.
The rematch is tonight (Wednesday) at the Dryden Memorial Arena in the Dingwall Ford Shoot for Cash game.
