Domtar And City Say Progress Is Being Made On Outstanding Tax Issue

Both Domtar and the City of Dryden are clarifying details on a reported agreement between the two on outstanding industrial tax issues.
A memorandum of understanding hasn’t been reached between the two sides but both parties say they are pleased with the progress being made.
Chief Administrative Officer Andre Larabie says they are pleased to have received a substantial payment from Domtar on outstanding taxes.
Larabie says they are hoping their ability to work together will result in a final agreement that meets the needs of the City and the company.
The City says the priority is the development of a memorandum of understanding between the City and the company which would be brought forward to the incoming Council at the earliest opportunity.
