Domtar in Dryden is focusing on sustainability and forest management as part of National Forestry Week.
Bonny Skene says the company is committed to ensuring our forests are sustainable for decades.
Skene says Domtar manages 2-forest licence’s on behalf of the province; the Wabigoon Forest and the Trout Lake Forest.
She notes they follow strict provincial standards to ensure the long-term viability of area forests.
Skene says they also rely on the help of a third party manager.
She says the third party manager takes a very detailed look at what is being done and makes recommendations.
Domtar is celebrating 100-years of pulp production in Dryden and Skene stresses their forest management plan is a major reason why.
