Dryden Days of Summer will be back in 2014.
Everyone who attended a public meeting last night voiced their support for the first year initiative.
Suzanne Scherban says she was encouraged with the feedback.
Business owners mentioned that they didn’t mind staying open late and stressed that it was great to see a positive attitude in the downtown core.
They added that they saw several new faces and weren’t there for nothing.
Scherban says Dryden Days of Summer will again run for 7-weeks next year.
Scherban notes they are always seeking public input and encourages everyone to plan some sort of event next year.
Several recommendations were made at the meeting on ways to make it bigger and better.
That includes music, buskers, the installation of bike stands, seating, games and incorporating Earls Court and other businesses who are positioned away from King Street.
Parking was one major issue that came up.
Scherban says they will look at closing King Street from 2:30-7:00 next year to give people more time to move their vehicles.
