One day after Domtar announced the shutdown of the paper machine and converting operation at the Dryden Mill, the company is announcing a huge third-quarter profit.
The company saw a 19% gain thanks to higher prices and lower maintenance and interest costs.
Net income rose to $43-million from $36-million.
A Vancouver based analyst told Bloomberg News that the elimination of the Dryden paper machine was a positive development for the Company.
