Anne Krassilowsky says its gut wrenching to learn that Domtar plans to shutdown the paper and converting operation at the Dryden Mill.
The Dryden Mayor admits yesterday’s announcement came as a surprise as the facility was the flagship Mill for so many years.
Krassilowsky says they were anticipating a temporary shutdown but not a complete closure of the operation.
Krassilowsky says she has been in talks with Ontario’s Natural Resources Minister about a strategy to help the ailing sector as well as Dryden’s economic future.
