The Christmas rush is over but the struggles continue for local families in need.
Food Banks Canada is asking the public to maintain their support for area food banks.
Executive Director Mimi Lowi-Young stresses donations are also needed at this time of year.
She stresses that each month more than 800,000 people turn to area food banks.
She notes staple foods and financial donations are important, but adding a few seasonal items or a little extra cash can make a significant difference.
Non-perishable food items are always accepted, with the Dryden Food Bank now able to accept perishable food.
