The Municipality of Sioux Lookout is making it easier for folks to understand council meetings.
Municipal Clerk Mary MacKenzie says they are publishing “council briefs”, which will provide very “brief” information about what has happened at the previous council meeting and the decisions of council. MacKenzie says council minutes are often difficult to read, but they are the official record of what happened in the council meeting.
The municipality has only published one so far, but MacKenzie says it is a constant work in progress.
The reports will be available at www.siouxlookout.ca, at the municipal office and will be distributed to staff within two-weeks of each council meeting.
