In loving memory of Dorothy L. Smith age 78 of Dryden who passed away at the Dryden Regional Health Centre on Monday February 9, 2004. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Jack & Beatrice French, brother Bert and sister Phyllis McGogy. Dorothy was born in Dryden August 14, 1925. She is survived by husband Bernard, one son Barry (Lynda White) and three daughters Barbara (Duncan) Scott of Ear Falls, ON, Cindy (Dan) Alcock of Balmertown, ON and Phyllis (James) Alcock of Dryden, ON. Dorothy is survived by 9 grandchildren Don, Tom, Merlyn, Darcy, Dennis, James, Natasha, Brie and Brooke. One great grandson Todd Scott. Dorothy worked at the Paper Mill, and taught school during the war. She moved to Ear Falls in 1963 and worked at the Post Office until her retirement, returning to Dryden in 1995. Dorothy served as Sr. Regent for the Dryden Moose Lodge Auxiliary and president of the Ear Falls Legion Auxiliary. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday February 21, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dryden Community Funeral Home with Mr. Ted Renaud officiating. Branch #63 of the Royal Canadian Legion will be conducting a veteran’s service. Interment of ashes to follow at the Dryden Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Dryden District Diabetes Education Program through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Ave., Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
