Dr. Pete Sarsfield Defends Smoking Fight

Standing his ground despite growing opposition from many sides.
Dr. Pete Sarsfield, the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is unapologetic in his fight to ban smoking in the Region’s Restaurants and Bars.
That despite mounting costs and increased criticism from his own board.
As of June 1st, the legal bills alone topped the $97,000 mark and the battle isn’t done yet.
Another hearing before the Health Services and Review Board is slated for later this summer, however no definate date has been set.
