Dramatic enrolment drop for RR School Board

The good news is the Rainy River District School Board has adopted a 36.8 million dollar preliminary balanced budget for the next school year.

But the bad news is the public board continues to lose students and Superintendent of Business Laura Mills notes the downward trend is quite dramatic.

An overall 2 percent increase in ministry grants will include primary class size reductions, funding for teacher collective agreements and school renovations.

Mills adds final tweaking of the budget will take place over the summer with provincial funding regulations expected later this week.
