Machin resident Drew Myers is stepping off the sidelines.
Myers has filed his papers to run for Mayor.
His main priorities is helping diversify the local economy.
Myers says he’s already seeing people moving to Machin to retire, but those people doing so need services.
He adds the municipality isn’t ready to provide those services and suggests a strategic plan is needed to combat the problem.
Myers would also push for more education for local entrepreneurs to help them grow their business.
He is running against Garry Parkes and incumbent Gord Dingman.
