A local effort to keep the Fort Frances Sabres alive is now underway.
Wayne Strachan is spearheading an attempt to make the team community owned and operated.
The local effort comes as attempts by the Thunder Bay ownership group to sell the team to unnamed buyer failed.
Strachan is hoping to secure at least 15 sponsors and 75 season ticket holders to start the season within the next two weeks
