Northwestern Ontario youth are experimenting with drugs as young as
10-years-old.
The disturbing revelation came from the Second Annual Substance Abuse
Prevention Summit in Dryden over the weekend.
Kenora Physician Dr. Sean Moore says parents need to talk to their
kids about the dangers of drugs.
Moore says 63% of youth in grades 7 to 9 have consumed alcohol
or admited to sniffing glue.
Moore says tobacco products are the number 1 killer in the Northwest
followed by alcohol abuse.
However, he notes the use of crack-coacine and solvents is starting to
catch up.
